Why Alignment At Work Matters More

One of my favorite take aways from our time together has to be this refreshing perspective:
What if we are looking for the role that could truly fulfill us all wrong?

Too often we are conditioned to look at our career and life development with a constricting and overly guarded approach. As Marlo says, "Work is changing because of AI and other factors, but I refuse to approach it with a lens of fear."

She encourages us to use these questions, especially when we're feeling stuck in a negative mindset about workplace changes:

1) What do I need to know?

2) How can I continue to move forward?

3) What can I do so my whole self is not wrapped up in what I do (the work that earns me money)?

For Marlo, her deep faith in a power greater than herself helps her put the limiting, heavy lens of fear down. 

And, also like me, she believes in the objective evidence that fantastic assessments can provide us. This is particularly helpful when we feel  unclear on the next best step to take on our path.

We also agree that going through an assessment process is NOT a magic bullet. Too often we see people take assessments and gain some useful awareness, but then put it to the side or move on too fast to the next  shiny growth tool.

​By exploring the assessment results with a career or life development coach or another trusted expert, we can more quickly open doors to well-being and professional alignment.

But the opposite often is what occurs. 

When the new data does not become part of a strategy to enhance the stories we share in interviews, strengthen our network, and highlight our value, much of our potential also gets put to the side. 

It is often an income and soul damaging loss that I don't want to see happen to anyone I know. 

Please take care to squeeze out all the juice when you invest in any assessment tool. Partner with the right person to help you implement, execute, and stay accountable to what is possible for you. 

Your brighter future at work and in other areas of your life depends on it.
