By Shea KiHas this ever happened to you? You know you need to prepare for an opportunity coming up, but it seems like a huge chore on top of everything else. It's likely been a long week (month!) at work. Maybe you are managing a family and your career goals. Or perhaps something else is on your plate such as dealing with a difficult boss, starting your own business, or a parent's health needs. You are tired and it is tempting to pass on the opportunity. Putting career momentum on the back burner is a common problem for many who desire to change their work situation but have a lot going on. Rather than work on upgrading our interview skills, so many other things are asking for our energy. Without the right help, it can be very overwhelming to figure out the best way to share our professional value. Unfortunately, staying stuck and falling into the abyss of a comfy bed, Netflix, social media, or a pint of ice cream for too long isn't going to help boost any of our careers. How about stirring up motivation for your interview preparation by trying something new? I created a guided visualization that leads you on a journey to get into the mindset of the person interviewing you. If you are looking for an edge over your competition, taking time to do this strategy works every time. In this Upgrade My Interview™ intuitive activity, the video will help put your focus on what a day in the life is like for someone who works for the company already. It is time to have more fun while you get ready to interview! This video will release some of the intense pressure off of your performance for awhile so you can look at the interview situation with new eyes. Often, my clients are happily surprised by what inspiration and new perspective this guided visualization reveals. So, I've finally recorded it and made it accessible to all. Your turn to share: What insight did getting into the mindset of the person interviewing you provide? What do you realize now about the company's needs or opportunity that you didn't tune into before? Let me know in the comments below where we learn and cheer on each other's Upgrade My Interview™ journey or email me. As always, believe in yourself.
