By Shea Ki, Career Momentum CoachDo you ever know something logically would be good for you but STILL find it challenging to do? The professional leaders, self-employed consultants, new business owners, and other amazing women I coach usually already realize that their body language speaks volumes. However, they also understand that it is challenging to master and takes time, support, and expertise from others to help that happen. This is one reason I reached out to several specialists to talk about and explore the power of our nonverbal communication. The first was Rachel Cossar and the conversation we jumped into is packed with golden nuggets that she offers during this new Shine In The Hot Seat episode. Rachel is a founder and co-founder of two incredible companies, lights up the stage as a TedX speaker, has recently launched the Virtual Sapiens SideKick, and offers other enormous value and thought leadership as one of the top nonverbal communication and leadership presence facilitators in the field. You will see that during our conversation, Rachel generously gives us world-class demonstrations and guidance. She offers us examples of how we can boost our body language to convey our message with impact, especially during an online meeting. What if there was a fantastic tool that uses artificial intelligence to make this easier and more accessible for anyone to learn? There is and you'll see in the first video below how to find out more! One of my favorite parts of our talk is when Rachel shares some of her story about the challenges that came along with reinventing herself through a unique career transition. I know many of us can currently relate to this topic of navigating through the unknown or have experienced similar, scary pivots in the workforce. As we discuss in Episode 2 below, doing the inner work and outer practice to align our body language with our message are key to communicating more effectively, especially in high stakes, professional situations. At the same time, we also need to give some attention and INTENTION to what our choices of clothing and accessories are nonverbally communicating. To explore this further, I spoke with two incredible stylists for different, exciting perspectives. Cristina Langridge and Claire Praom help us understand how the elements of style can empower us when under pressure and elevate our feeling of genuine confidence. I hope you enjoy Cristina's "before and after" transformations she shares with us, Claire's fantastic vocal warm-up tips and so much more that both amazing women brought to our conversations. I'm excited to hear from you over email or on LinkedIn what you gain or find interesting from these conversations about body language boosters. As always, you can also reach out to fill me in how your interview prep or other steps to attracting career moment are going, too.
