Written by Shea Ki Happy Holidays!!! Your comments on this blog and reaching out on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook this month have made my work even more meaningful. I am enjoying answering your questions about how to be a pro during a job interview and how to find work you like-- even when the economy is a hot mess! My fingers have also been happily typing away on the mini-series about interviewing skills that I was asked to do for Youth Time international magazine . But nothing beats updating and creating helpful content and some fun for you here at In The Hot Seat blog. Did you know that you can provide a gift certificate of a coaching package from Upgrade My Interview™? It is a fun and unique way to show someone you care about their future success--especially during the holiday time! Think of the stress relief, boosted confidence, and possibly bigger paycheck you could be connecting your friend or family member to with this great gift! Email me to set this up for that person who you want to see succeed in their career. On to our blog topic of the month: What if you could answer a job interview question with a song? Some of the songs on the list below popped into my head or are provided from others I asked who I coached recently. Of course if you actually did have one of these songs start to play from your phone during your interview you likely would be shown the door. However, sometimes we need a break from all the serious prep of getting ready to make a good first impression and relax with some laughs! Enjoy this list of songs that could be played to answer popular job interview questions. Which of your music favs are missing and which interview question would you pick for them to answer for you? I can’t wait to hear how you would make this list more of your own in the comments below. Be sure you keep your comments and additions of songs #sassybutclassy 1. Tell me about yourself. Stressed Out (Twenty One Pilots) What Do You Want From Me? (Adam Levine) Uptown Funk: Don’t Believe Me, Just Watch! (Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson ) 2. What type of management style helps you do your best work? Party Rock Anthem (LMFAO) Happy (Pharrell) Free Falling (Tom Petty) 3. Where do you see yourself in three to five years? No Apologies (Empire Soundtrack) With or Without You (U2) 4. Describe a time you had a difficult customer and how you handled the situation. Smoke Break (Carrie Underwood) Turn Down For What? (DJ Snake & LiL Jon) 5. Are you open to a flexible schedule and working on weekends? I Would Do Anything…But I Won’t Do That (Meatloaf) I’m Not The One (Collective Soul) 6. We’ll be doing a background check on your history, but is there anything you want to share with us first? Rumor Has It (Adele) Renegades (X Ambassadors) Wild One (Faith Hill) Take Me To Church (Hozier) 7. What questions do you have for us? "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" (Lenny Kravitz) "Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?" (The Clash) Share your song suggestions on this blog (click on "comments") and also be sure to officially join the Upgrade My Interview™ community. Fun to think about. I think "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz also would have worked well for ? #1.

Great list, although now I will have the Empire song in my head the rest of today. Maybe it will come in handy to keep me pumped up when I have to turn this project in to my supervisor.
