Did you know that "ki" (pronounced key) in Japanese often means "spirit" or "energy"?
Unlike a physical key we can hold in our hand, the type of "ki" we put into our interview prep matters. The energy behind how you prepare will either help you shine in the hot seat or block you from career success.
After learning about the first two FUNdamentals of the UMI Method in my previous post, you are now ready for the third. There is so much more to this holistic approach to interview prep, but understanding these three Fundamentals is a great place to start upgrading your interview skills. Using them consistently will decrease your interview stress and boost your genuine confidence.
This next UMI principle stems from my years of experience and training with the Law of Attraction (LOA) and the lessons I learned as a hiring manager and employment center supervisor. I love the third principle so much as I can always count on it to help transform my client's interviewing experiences.
UMI FUNdamental #3: LOA everyday.
With the news constantly reminding us of how the economy is in poor shape, it is easy to believe that there is not a lot of opportunity to go around. Fortunately, there is a universal law that helps serve as a guidepost when we feel frustrated, stuck, overwhelmed, or down on ourselves before any interview.
By learning and practicing how to use the Law of Attraction, we are able to build up momentum for interview success with more ease. So often we get in our own way by pushing ourselves so hard to do and say everything exactly right. The concepts of the Law of Attraction offer us a better way. It begins with learning how to shift out of a job seeking energy to instead being an opportunity magnet.
It takes an open mind to learn how to shift from a job seeker mindset to being an opportunity magnet, but the benefits will speak for themselves. This document gives you an overview of how these two different "ki", or energies, manifest during interview prep. (You can click here or on the image to view and download a bigger pdf version)
Which type of "ki" (or energy) do you feel would create more interview success? A job seeker mindset or instead being an opportunity magnet?
I've seen time and again that those who take actions from a place of fear versus a place of trust experience so much more struggle and less interview success. There is a lot to share with you about how the Law of Attraction can get you off the hamster wheel of relying only on traditional methods for interviewing. Read on if you want to stop experiencing the same outcomes after interviews over and over with little career opportunity to show for it.
