By Shea KiSometimes we don't know what we don't know. And it can be harmful to our well-being and success at work. This month's guest on Career Momentum Chats has opened the door to a body of research and inner work that I am shocked I had not discovered much about before. Alissa Vreeland currently: ✔️ is a Holistic Psychotherapist and spent years before that providing career development in higher education ✔️ blends her education as a Licensed Professional Counselor with her training as a Registered Yoga Teacher --um, WOW! ✔️ focuses a lot on helping others learn about nervous system regulation Her trailblazing, holistic therapy approach is healing emotionally intuitive members of the workforce (like me!) in ways that are desperately needed and long overdue. Alissa specializes in helping individuals self-regulate via somatic, trauma-informed, interpersonal, and psychodynamic approaches. She believes that "self-growth is consciously reconnecting to our core self". This pioneer in the counseling fields creates incredible results for those she serves through her private practice, digital course on nervous system regulation, speaking engagements, and group work that she facilitates. I knew Alissa would be an amazing, caring person to have on my new show, but I had no idea of the impact she instantly made. Our conversation has been a catalyst in shifting some of the focus of my work as a Career Momentum Coach. I am on a journey myself to heal and resolve some of my own nervous system dysregulation. I know it will assist me in breaking the cycle of passing down generational wiring that no longer serves me or my family well. I expect hat the learning and un-learning that will be involved will help me avoid a lot of health issues and also better assess, support, and encourage the professional women that I coach. Are you ready to discover what the likely root cause is to imposter syndrome, perfectionism, performance anxiety, people pleasing, many illnesses and other career success blockers? I am excited to hear what stands out to you about this conversation with Alissa. Watch this episode: |
